Daniela Sanchez is a Biomedical Engineering major and the founder of a nonprofit organization that encourages young Latinas to pursue careers in STEM.

Suvan Sudan is a third-year international student majoring in mechanical engineering. He has a strong interest in visualization and the creative design process.

Shanice Taylor is a Ph.D. student in chemical engineering, who is developing and characterizing protein biologics from transgenic plants to advance sustainable biomanufacturing of therapeutics, particularly for low-resource environments such as outer space.

Hang is a first year electrical engineering major who aims to create sustainable, accessible technology to elevate human lives. On campus, she is a dedicated member of the Formula Racing team, the University Honors Program, and the Outdoor Crew Club. Outside of school, she enjoys watching shows/movies, going on hikes, and spending time with family and friends.

Samantha Vargas is a second-year Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior major who is passionate about pursuing a career as a pediatric dentist.

Vicky Wong is a Community and Regional Development major with a minor in Technology Management. She is passionate about innovation, social enterprises, and startups, with a particular interest in how technology can drive positive social impact.

Hannah Xu is a human biology major who is actively expanding her knowledge in cancer research and T-cell therapy. She hopes to use her passions for immunology and entrepreneurship to create her own startup in the field. She is currently seeking research opportunities in immunology labs to further develop her expertise and entrepreneurial goals.

As an undergraduate researcher in the Ori-McKenney lab, Cheryl's research focuses on characterizing the tau protein. She has worked at the Career Center for almost three years, helping students write resumes and cover letters. While she is passionate about science, she also holds a love for the arts, whether it be film, paintings, or literature.

Iris Yoshiko Juanico is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the lab of Dr. Celina Juliano, where she studies regeneration in Hydra vulgaris, a freshwater animal related to jellyfish. She is interested in increasing environmental sustainability, giving consumers greater choice, and providing lactose-free options for whey protein powder via microbial precision fermentation.

Haley Ali is a senior at UC Davis pursuing a major in genetics and a minor in technology management. Her interests include traveling, listening to history podcasts and participating in thoughtful discussion—she’s not afraid to play devil’s advocate.
