Bio

As an undergraduate researcher in the Ori-McKenney lab on campus, Cheryl is a small stitch in the tapestry of research that occurs on campus. Her work in the lab focuses on characterizing a protein called tau, which is  implicated in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s. She has worked at the Career Center for almost three years, serving students by helping them with career-related materials like resumes and cover letters. Recently, she began volunteering at Davis Community Meals and Housing because she is passionate about de-stigmatizing homelessness and helping individuals in need. While she is passionate about science, she also holds a love for the arts, whether it be film, paintings, or literature. Through EQUIP, she seeks to learn the skills of a leader and hopes to develop a career where her diverse passions can intertwine.
