Alyx Volzer
Alyx Volzer is a Ph.D. student in Economic Geography and a community developer who is working to create sustainable organizational models and resilient polycentric governance systems for undifferentiated markets characterized by strong inelastic consumer demand. They have been a serial microentrepreneur focusing on the health and wellness sectors for the last 15 years — currently practicing massage in Davis, teaching microentrepreneurship at a local trade massage school, and running their student massage clinic. They have been involved in political organizing and governance around community health at all levels from local to international since 2002. Volzer has a trade degree in massage therapy and an M.A. in political economic geography. In their spare time, Alyx is a “method writer” of solarpunk fiction and does writing consultation on solarpunk economics and disability justice.
