Valentina Roel
Valentina Roel is a Ph.D. Candidate in the horticulture and agronomy program at UC Davis. She earned her B.S. in agronomy from Universidad de la República in Uruguay, where she also worked in the Soils and Water Department, and later received a specialization in digital fabrication and Innovation from UTEC in Uruguay. She also worked for the local government advising on environmental management and sustainability. Her research at UC Davis focuses on nitrogen management, soil health, and greenhouse gas emissions in cropping systems. She is particularly interested in quantifying the trade-offs and synergies between crop productivity, environmental impacts, and ecosystem services. Valentina is committed to advancing solutions that enhance agricultural sustainability and food security.
