Shannon Perna
Shannon Perna is a master’s student in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Her current research focuses on creating a high-resolution haptic sensing circuit designed to replicate human touch sensitivity. Before coming to UC Davis, Shannon graduated with a B.S. in Engineering Physics from Colorado School of Mines, where she conducted research related to the applications of metasurfaces and micro-electro-mechanical systems. During her undergraduate work, she also held roles as a NCAA athlete and engineering intern at Redwire Space and Emerson Electric. Perna plans to use her business development experience and advanced degree from UC Davis to enhance the industry applications of human-machine interfaces. Her hobbies include playing volleyball, reading psychology books and exploring nature.
