Driven by her love of nature, Meera is passionate about ecological restoration and aspires to lead a habitat restoration non-profit in the future. A third-year Dean’s List student, Meera is majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in Landscape Restoration. She has an extensive background in ecological research, having conducted independent research at the Tahoe Environmental Research Center, interned in the Funk and Latimer labs, and completed a summer internship at the Carnegie Science Institute at Stanford.

However, Meera found her professional calling as President of the Davis Rewilding Society, a student-run native plant club, where she leads a team of officers to enhance on-campus Californian plant biodiversity, educate students about restoration through hands-on experiences, and build community. Since discovering this calling for non-profit leadership, Meera has sought out opportunities to advance her leadership, organizational development, and entrepreneurial skills – a quest that led her to the EQUIP internship this spring.
