Carisse Geronimo

Carisse Geronimo is a Ph.D. candidate at UC Davis in the Energy Systems program. She is focused onwaste-to-energy pathways, specifically, small-scale anaerobic digestion of food waste that can no longer be donated or distributed for consumption.

She holds an M.S. in environmental systems with a concentration in energy technology and policy from Cal Poly Humboldt. Previously, she worked as a research engineer at the Schatz Energy Research Center on projects related to carbon accounting, the health/energy nexus, biomass utilization, and renewable microgrids. She is passionate about advancing climate-friendly and socially just ways of managing food and resources, as well as building community around sharing food.
