Bio
Afshan Qamar
Afshan Qamar is a Ph.D. student in energy systems at UC Davis, developing advanced control strategies for grid-interactive buildings to improve energy efficiency. Her work focuses on automating and optimizing building loads to integrate renewable energy and reduce costs and emissions.
Before joining UC Davis, Afshan worked with USAID in Pakistan on renewable energy projects to electrify remote communities. She holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and is passionate about advancing sustainable energy solutions in the built environment.
